Love of Humans
I think people are pretty awesome. And learning about them, connecting with them, and helping them is my life’s mission.
But it’s not only my passion. Forging human connection is also my superpower. Whether I’m leading a team of analysts, hosting a restaurant, helping seniors write college essays, or sitting with a small business owner to help market his life’s work, it’s the distinct human-ness of my process and work that sets me apart. If it’s made by Augy, it’s made human-ly. For humans, by a human.
Love of Stories
Stories have always been a part of my life, and it’s a part of everyone’s life if we’re honest. As humans, stories and story-telling are as natural and unavoidable as it is for us to take rocks, trees, and clay to make ourselves homes.
Each human is made up of an endless sequence of stories, and by sharing them with others, we enrich and build up the world and people around us. That’s because stories invite people to share in a common experience, and so by sharing our stories, we create the potential for a shared story, a shared identity: A culture built up on the beauty of our common, human existence.
Love of the Ordinary
Life is made up of everyday, ordinary moments. And if we insist on endlessly seeking out novelty in new things or grand experiences, we’ll miss out on what really matters. Because it is often the most ordinary things in life that are the most beautiful and worthwhile.
It’s no different with our stories. Your story might very well be hiding in plain sight, unknown to the world. But that doesn’t mean it’s not worthwhile. I believe your story is awesome. Because it’s yours. And you’re a human. And humans are awesome.
